  • County Entry Form, with contact information for the local coordinator(s)
  • The $80 county entry fee, payable by check or purchase order to the Friends of the Museums of Florida History Inc. is due by
    March 9.

March 9

Counties complete school and county contests by this date.
Deadline for paying the $80 county entry fee
Deadline for teacher awards: Florida Teacher of Merit and Mayflower Society Outstanding Teacher
Deadline for student scholarships: Mayflower Society and National Maritime History Society

March 16

County Coordinators provide the Florida History Day office with the following items by this date.

  • Online registration of first- and second-place county winners who will advance to the state competition
Deadline for student applications for FHD special awards

March 23

County Coordinators provide the Florida History Day office with the following items by this date.

  • Copies of the Student Information Form with student, teacher, and parent signatures
  • Name of recipient(s) of the Outstanding County Award
  • Historical Paper Entry Form and four copies of each paper entry
  • Website Entry Form with URLs for websites constructed on nhd.weebly.com
  • County History Day Statistics Form
  • List of students with special needs attending the state contest

May 6–8

Florida History Day state competition
The state contest is held on the campus of Tallahassee Community College. The Awards Ceremony is held at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum.

June 10–14

National History Day competition
The national contest is held at the University of Maryland, College Park.
